She stood there

Photobucket

she stood there
in front of the aging tree
seasons flew in a chimera glass
the tree naked to wisdom of stars
she stood there
among dried peepul leaves
carousel of cracked memories
fleeting words in a bottled treasure
she stood there
beyond which the sky fell
the eye flickered neither of despair
nor hope
the southend fort had long broken to the wind
she stood there
longstanding pacts of the skin
tattoos of an unfolding rain
dictated the sun and surrender.

Poem and Drawing on a hand made paper by Amitabh Mitra
